The Birds and the bees - Postcard swap
I'm just wrapping up "The birds and the bees", postcard swap for the month of April. I'm still waiting on a few last submissions so I haven't started sorting and labeling yet, but I wanted to share pictures of some of the postcards that have come in.
Linda F (@sakameg) sent some beautiful postcards in. I love the real pieces of vintage papers that she includes on all of her creations. The reds and pinks go so well with the cream colors in older papers.
These below, by Aly Kat, I find appealing, in part, because of the shapes of paper that decorate the postcards. I love the hexagons in the postcard above, and the circles below.
I love the background papers in these below by Nan C. The darker colors are so dramatic placed along side the lighter papers. The bird illustrations are beautiful.
Janice L. sent these ones below. They're so well done. Each card strikes just the right balance with placement. The weight of the birds, butterflies, and flowers/plants is just right.
I have to admit that part of the enjoyment for me is receiving cards like these in beautifully decorated envelopes. It's not a prerequisite to participating in the postcard swap, but I certainly appreciate the time and effort it takes to decorate the envelope they come in. This one is from Janice L.
Her cards were tied with a string. What a pleasure to open. :-)
Lastly are some postcards from Becky K. There are so many things to admire. The colors on the cards are so vibrant and cheerful. The postage stamps add just the right touch. And I love those rubber stampings of the bird feathers. Wow!
I wish I could keep them all but, alas, I cannot. Shortly they will be mailed out to brighten another recipient's mail box. I'd say "lucky them", but they've put in the work to make these, so it's definitely not luck getting to receive these; it's the result of hard work ;-)
The next swap is in July. In the meantime, check out the postcards from a previous swap using maps.
