A Deck of prompt cards

After coming up with a bunch of prompts to help with making collage art, I designed a deck of cards to make it easier to use the prompts, and made them available in my Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/listing/643778547/prompt-cards-deck-of-50-prompts-for

The idea for the prompts came from coming up with a bunch of ideas of where to find interesting scraps of paper to collage with. I created a list of places where someone might find bits, and the next logical step was to make a set of cards to be able to rearrange the prompts and make more collages.

There are 50 prompts all together - 2 on 25 cards. One of the neat things I did was put a number on the ticket, ending in 1 to 50. That way, you could play with using the numbers, such as using odds only, or only numbers divisible by 5.

The Facebook group

In case you'd like to play and haven't joined the Facebook group yet, you are welcome to come over. It's called Vintage Gluebooks and Pages. Every week I post a new assignment composed of 5 prompts. It's really neat to see what people come up with.

Here's an example of a collage made by Karen, a member of the group with the following prompts:

  • a fabric scrap
  • a postage stamp
  • something drawn or written in pencil
  • a piece of a dictionary page
  • a piece of lined paper or graph paper

And here's one by Maryse using the following:

  • something round
  • a postage stamp
  • a piece of map
  • anything from the grocery store
  • a form or part of a form

Fun, isn't it? The prompts are simple enough that most can be found without too much trouble. It's interesting how everyone interprets the assignments differently, all based on the same prompts.

Anyway, check out the deck of prompts on my Etsy store, or come over to the Facebook group if you are interested.
