A Challenge I worked on for World Collage Day

Did you know that world collage day is celebrated on May 9? I didn't know either. It took a neat letter from my friend Jennifer to inform me of this.

For something creative to do, she invited me to create a small collage, using the materials she sent me in her letter. She also included a postcard that was blank on one side, and was pre-addressed to her on the other side. She also had postage already placed, which made things extra convenient :-)

Since I knew that if people participated, many collages would have similar elements, I wanted to add a few embellishments that would make it uniquely my own.

I added a background rubber stamping using my favorite stamp: my "time/space" round stamp from Club Scrap. I used a red ink, and it's not very noticeable in the background--just what I wanted.

Additionally, since I was using the "hand carry" sticker, I wanted to use a rubber stamp of a mailman hand-carrying mail. I couldn't fit the whole image, so I tore him in half. That worked better.

I made a video of the how I put the collage together, if you are interested.

I loved this project! I hope I'm able to see what others have created. I'll have to ask her to post some.

UPDATE: I found one on Instagram, by Pamela Gerard. Yay!
