Sewing project – Long johns

It’s the end of November and getting cold. I’ve been looking for long johns for V to wear under her clothes for our daily walks outside.

I haven’t had any luck finding anything for an 18 to 24 month old, so I decided that I would alter a pajama to make my own. Cotton pajamas that wear close to the body are perfect. It makes a thin layer close to her skin and keeps her warm. Plus, I love Carter’s pajamas. Cute stuff.

I cut off the feet, did a little hemming, and voila… a pair of lovely long johns. When she tried them on she rubbed her hands over her belly and chest, and said, “Nice. Nice.”

Nice 🙂
