Sewing project – Red-hued tablecloth

Once I had V’s red chair in our dining room, I knew I had to do something to incorporate it. We have beige carpet with a round, dark cherry-colored wood dining room table and chairs.

Just by chance, I remembered that I had just brought home a piece of material from my trip to Slovakia that would fit perfectly. The only problem was that I only had a little piece of it. It looks like this:

I decided that I would buy chocolate-brown material and then use the material I had as a kind of runner in between two pieces of brown. Then I would do the hem with a red bias tape. Here’s how it turned out.

The colors fit perfectly together with the carpet and furniture. And the chair fits right in 🙂
